so as most of you know from my previous topic about the router i switched internet provider from telenet to their other thingy called fibernet
now all we had is quite some problems with them
firstly it started with having to buy a new router, alright not a big deal really but keep that in mind
we switched because we only had 10mbps download speed instaid of the 100mbps promised in advertising
after switching we now get a 20mbps when wireless and 60 when the cable is plugged in

now after a few days problems occurred and our internet and tv/phone died every so often so we couldn't even call them to inform them of our problem
a lot of you guys may be saying: why not use your cellphone?
we didn't use the cellphone for the simple reason you are being put on hold for about half an hour and being redirected to other employers for another half hours and that while we use our phone for free. so we waited until we had our phone back and called them to inform them of our problems and they said they will look into it. 1 week later we still had the same problems so we decided to call again (4 hours this time) and treated to switch provider to their rivals. suddenly everything was fixed in a minute

after 2 weeks of using it without to many problems we suddenly recieved a bill charging us 20 euro's to much so we called again. no problems made, they would subtract the amount in their database and we didn't have to pay those 20 euro's. the bill was due the 21th of this month. the 18th we recieved a warning letter saying that if we didn't pay our bill in time that our internet/phone/tv would get disconnected so we called again asking why we got this letter to pay on the 18th (recieved, so that must mean they mailed it a few days before that) while we didn't have to pay until the 21th. they explained it was a mailed to make sure we would pay in time. with this ridiculous fact we asked if they bumped their head on something and hung up.
we payed the 21th and on the 22nd our internet/tv/phone got disconnected so we asked a friend of ours to call and ask them what was up with that. They were told we didn't pay the entire bill and we still owed them 20 euro's. after loads and loads of calling they finaly realised we didn't had to pay those 20 euro's and we got our internet back

in the middle of the month we went to visit my grandfather and when we came back our internet speed got reduced to the speed we have when we reached our download limit so we called again seeing as we now have around 250 gb here. they did some checking and noticed that we wasted around 190 gb on one day. we weren't home and naturally our pc's weren't running. we even disconnect our router during that time to avoid people leaching on it (although it's password protected and the password get changed every month) 190 gb on those few hours we were home that day (6 hours maybe) that must be some kind of record. they realised that something must have been wrong and they removed 10% of our limit. during all the calling for this they noticed that 20mbps isn't the normal speed and they would look into it

3 days ago our internet and tv got disconnected again so we called and asked them what was up this time
we got informed that we still had a running bill and as long as we didn't pay that we had no tv/internet. we asked what the running bill was and they answered that we still owed them 0 euro's. at this point we didn't even get angry anymore, just a facepalm and a notification that they are just plain stupid. we said that we expected our stuff to be up and running again in 5 minutes and that they had to stop with their bull. everything was fixed within 5 minutes

sadly nothing has changed about our speed (i guess looking into it takes a long time) and with 5 people you quickly reach 25GB so i'm on 56K again. some more angry phonecalls didn't help so i'm stuck with this untill the 2nd of this month
stay tuned for more stories next month

Awesome story :')
Love Belgian providers with their data limit.

One question tho, is this typically for Belgium? Cuz i've heard more of these stories about customer services and bills

after some more complaining because of our dns failing every bloody evening(fixed with a simple router reset but annoying anyway) they decided to show an act of kindness and delete more of our limit
this does not fix our problem but is handy anyway

i'm getting fairly annoyed by all of this though

I suddenly feel very lucky to have not had any internet issues in the last few months... I always thought the bi-monthly issues with the email server going down for a few hours were terrible reliability, but now I see otherwise :O
